From Release 21.2.2 onwards, the following CLI command is added to VOS

    show interfaces sfpinfo <vni-x/x>

From Release 20.2.1 onwards, following debug command is supported from VSMD CLI

    show vsm sfp-optics-modules  (Cannot Specify individual vni ports)

Prior to release 21.2.2, SFP diagnostics command is not supported. 

Both the above commands are supported only for ports with ixgbe and i40e dpdk drivers.

For the SFP diagnostic command to work, the NVMe firmware of the fiber interface is needed to be at a certain minimum version as noted below. If not, the command will give an error.

       admin@versa-flexvnf-cli> show interfaces sfpinfo vni-0/4

       Interface name: vni-0/4

       errmsg SFP Module Access Error: Diagnostic Monitor Operation Not Supported for Interface :[vni-0/4]

The following table captures the fiber ports and the sfp-diagnostics support on all versa certified appliances.

For port to vni mapping, please refer to the respective appliance document.

Notes:

1. In case of a speed change in SFPs or inserting new SFP module in NIC port, we recommend enabling/disabling the vni interface after the module is inserted. 
2. If there is a change in the remote end configuration, we recommend enabling/disable the vni interface on the Versa side. 
3. For x710 based controllers, for SFP diagnostics to work, minimum Intel NVM firmware version required is 6.01
4. For x722 based controllers, for SFP diagnostics to work, minimum Intel NVM firmware version required is 4.10
5. For Dell 4600 x722 based controllers, for SFP diagnostics to work, minimum Dell NVM firmware version required is 5.0
