VRRP ARP learning issues in a Versa branch device, running in a virtualized environment such as KVM, EXSI etc. LAN users are unable to ping the VIP IP address.

SOLUTION:

This issue occurs when the hypervisor delivers all unknown unicast traffic to the guest VM's NIC interface, on both the KVM and VIRITO mode of interfaces.

Currently, Versa supports only one Virtual VRRP MAC and the VIRITO driver does not support multiple MAC. Versa recommends you to use physical MAC mode for all virtual deployments of VRRP.

Run the set protocols vrrp mac-address-mode physical CLI command on the Versa FlexVNF branches running the VRRP to use a physical MAC mode for both the master and backup VRRP routers.

admin@Branch-cli(config)% set protocols vrrp mac-address-mode physical
