This article shows how to configure a Domain Name Server on Versa Director.

 

Prerequisite

Versa Director should be deployed and is accessible using GUI.


 

Configuration

  1. Login to the Versa Director
  2. In the Versa Director GUI, navigate to Administration->System->DNS
  3. Click the highlighted option to edit the settings

 

  1. Click the + button

 

  1. We have provided 8.8.8.8 and 10.48.0.99 as the IP addresses of the name servers.
    Please Note: We can add up to three entries for Name Servers field.
  2. We have added versa-networks.com for Search Domain, used for hostname lookup.
    Please Note: We can add up to six domain names under Search Domain.

 

  1. Click on Ok to complete the configuration.
  2. You will be able to view the DNS configuration.

 

Alternatively, you can configure nameservers using shell of Versa Director node.

ssh to the Versa Director node and edit resolv.conf

sudo vi /etc/resolv.conf.

Then add the nameservers one per line.
